Wendy and Jerry

Let's start from the beginning!  on December 15th 1955 my Dad came to me and said "Your mom is going to have a baby and will be home in 4 or 5 days".  WOW then they drove away. What did that mean I"m only 7 years old.  being excited and a little worried,  I waited.  Well they finally came home with a buddle in their arms.  The minute I saw you  I told Mom this is my baby boy and I will take care of him forever.  Some fun times and hard times followed. The first was when I was changing Dens diaper I stuck the large diaper pin clear through the diaper and him. He screamed real loud and I knew right away I had hurt Him bad  but He got me back, when the day came for me to watch him while mom scrubbed the floors, well the only way to contain him was putting him in the high chair and let him play with toys.  that didn't keep his attention very long so i gave him my doll that i got for Christmas, now mind you the head on the doll was made of hard plastic and in a throw of the doll to the floor ,the head cracked in half.  ok i couldn't spank him not my Dennis so i put a large bandage on the crack and it lived on for a long time.  There was the time Dad had Marv and I go on the beet digger and Dennis wanted to go so I told him to stay right here as I sat him on the ground not seeing that there was a large ant hill nearby.  Soon the howling started and the ants were biting him all over his legs. Sorry about that. We had a large (fat) horse that we could ride safely, so the four of us climbed on for a nice ride around the farm.  we came to a narrow ditch for the horse to walk over, well instead the horse decided to sit down and the 4 of us slid right off her back.  No one was happy about that, especially Den. He was in the middle and got smashed. .When Den was 5 or 6 years old we were playing on a straw stack and it collapsed on Den.  I didn't know 3 kids could move that fast to get him out. When Mom hung the laundry out to dry she would tie him to the clothesline (for his own safety). After Jer and I got married Den would come to Pocatello and stay for a weekend . Often times he and Jer went skiing together .  Jer treasures those times and the bond they made.  Later on in life Den and his family moved to blackfoot ( this was the same time we lived there)  I spent many hours with the boys and felt like they were as much apart of my family as my own kids.  let's back up a bit. When

Den was in high school Dad bought a team of horses to join a charette  racing group  Den enjoyed that time with Dad as did we all. The state champ race was a fun time. We had one of the best teams and made it to the finals that were held in Pocatello..It was a nail biting race with a photo finish  We lost by a nostril.

My life has been truly blessed to have Dennis as my baby brother..I have a lot of respect for you and hopefully fulfilled my promise I made when you were only 5 days old to take care of you  and love you forever!!!!!

I'm grateful for the gift of families together forever. Let's strive for that.

        Love you

           Wendy
